Our adventures in space!

For the past week, we have learned about the Moon and the Sun.  The Moon is only 1080 miles in Radius.  And for the Sun we learned that it is 10,000 degrees!!  We have been finding out many things already that we did not know.  Today we put together a glow in the dark space puzzle.  The kids were so fast at putting it together!  We cant wait until tonight to see all the planets glow!
We went on a field trip this weekend to the mountains.  The stars were so bright and we could see them so clearly!  Joshua spotted the milky way right away.  It looked like spilled milk across the sky.  We also brought home some items from the forest.  Can you guess what they are?

Yes, cattail is correct and the first picture is a pinenut. A squirrel ate a part of the center out and threw it down to David. The seeds inside are edible. It has tree sap all over it so it is very sticky. And it smells so stronge like Pine Trees....mmmm. :)
